Murphy, you have fallen into one of the traps that I have laid to deter bogus robots and web crawlers from creating havoc on my website and using up resources. Tomorrow I will send you a message to explain how I think you have managed to do this.

Every day I am getting the annoying "robot test". Then the message about avoiding some kind of links doesn't tell me anything I understand. How do I make it stop; other than leaving the site altogether?

JadeJack. JadeJack was added this month. This is a game of territory, played with disks that may stack. The strengths that are exerted by occupied squares determine where moves may be made and if stacks of disks can be 'turned'.

Kauri. Kauri was added. This is a new seeding game of the Mancala and Bohnenspiel family. Each pit starts with one 'hammer' stone that is used to make captures.

Backgammon. Money games of Backgammon can now be played, with or without the Jacoby rule.

Viking Ealdfaeder. A 'corner win' game played on a 9x9 board. It is now available.



( Unfortunately this variant is no longer available. It was experimental and a set of rules could not be found to make it an equal game. )

Doubling Cube. Backgammon matches can now be played without the doubling cube.

Backgammon. ( Tavola Reale, Tric Trac. ) Considered by many to be the premier dice game, this popular game is also one of the oldest. ( Name derives from the old Saxon 'baec gamen'. ) A game to really test your capacity for intelligence, alertness and for calculating risk. It is now available here.

Merels. ( Mill, Nine Men's Morris, Morabaraba. ) This venerable game dates at least back to the Roman Empire and by the time of the Middle Ages had migrated to all parts of the known world. Now it has been added here. Please do try. It also comes with a choice of wood grain textures.

Chess / Tablut. There is now a choice of two fonts, Merida or Good Companions. Go to the 'Your Settings' page. Good Companions looks better.

From the settings page you may now set the adjustment to allow the playing grids to appear in a darker shade.

Hnefatafl. The Hnefatafl variant is now also available, the last of the Tafl games I had planned to add. The historical version will be played here: strong king, corner win, and also with the group capture rule.

( Unfortunately this variant is no longer available. The only Tafl variants now played here are the edge-win games: Brandubh, Tablut, Tawlbwrdd. )

Small Forum. This forum has been added.
